Summer Picnic & BBQ with Brown Brothers Wines
Previously only visible on the overground train routes in and out of London Bridge, The Paperworks was (sadly now closed) a huge patch of waste ground transformed into the perfect urban paradise. DDC took over the space for a great day of picnic baskets, BBQ, ukuleles, sing-alongs, DDC disco and Aussie wines from our friends at Brown Brothers.
Over 300 DDC guests booked themselves in for DDC picnic baskets with potted meats, fish and vegetables, with DDC Pickles and bread by DDC and St John. From the BBQ there were Squid, Prawn, Lemon & Chipotle Skewers, Salt Grilled Picanha, BBQ Lamb’s Tongue & Rouille, Louisiana Rub Pork Neck, Olive Oil Baked Beetroots, and Haloumi, Tomato & Oregano in Pita, accompanied by big summer salads including Rice, Coconut, & Mango, Giant Cous Cous, Aubergine & Chick Pea, and DDC Head Chef Fred’s Brazilian Salpican Green Bean & Chicken Salad.
At the bar were sunshine friendly sangrias, wine cocktails and tasty Australian whites and reds from our friends at Brown Brothers wines (celebrating 125 years of wine making), plus all the food friendly beers, crisp, cold lagers, quality spirits and softs you might want.
Tickets for the DDC Summer Picnic & BBQ at The Paperworks cost £46 and included all food, welcome cocktail and two glasses of wine from Brown Brothers. Doors open at 1pm, food is served from 2pm, with music, sunshine and good times until 11pm.
