Warming winter bites in the chill of a recreated Swedish forest in East London.
We were thrilled to team up with Rekorderlig Cider for their Winter Forest project, back in November 2012. We were asked to provide a small menu of Norse by Norsewest style small plates, which could be enjoyed alongside samples of flavoured ciders, and a range of tasty cider cocktails.
The dishes chosen were an Arctic Cheese Croquette with Cloudberry Chutney, Elk Sausage Roll with Lingonberry Ketchup, Pan-fried Herring with Pickled Cucumber, Crispbread and Mustard Creme Fraiche, Swedish DDC Meatballs, Mash & Lingonberry Jam, and a Dime Bar, Raspberry & Chocolate Rulltarta for dessert.
The Winter Forest was built inside an old warehouse, part of the Truman brewery buildings on Brick Lane in East London, with real trees, and also featured DJs, live bands a busy cocktail bar but (sadly) no bears.
