A Trip to Jura
You never know what might happen when you give a chef a bottle of whisky to play with, let alone all four styles from Jura Whisky; Jura Origin, Superstition, Diurach's Own and Prophecy.
We were asked to create a night of whisky pairings and tastings using DDC dishes that would highlight the sweet and smoky flavour profiles, and the craftsmanship that goes into the Jura family of whiskies.
Guests were welcomed with hot Jura cocktails served inside a Bermonsey wood yard, with DDC Head Chef smoking fish and seafood using whisky barrel woodchips. Next came dinner in Ropewalk, hosted by Jura's brand ambassador, and a menu of whisky friendly dishes to compliment each Jura style. After dinner it was to the bar, for a menu of classic cocktails, with modern, Jura fuelled, sweet and smoky twists.
