Dinner with Adidas and Rita Ora
Well, this was fun. We were approached by John Doe, a PR company in Shoreditch, and asked to devise an intimate dinner for 60 international fashion writers, who were all being flown into London for three days with Rita Ora, as part of the launch of her new fashion range for Adidas.
More than just a dinner, the brief asked us to immerse the diners in the spirit of the collection and Rita herself, without turning the night into a celeb-led fashion show. Key to the success of the night would be bringing the guests together (many did not share English as a common language), connect them with Rita, and to introduce the principles and ideas behind the fashion collection, without necessarily showing the range itself.
DDC looked after creative planning and production of a world class evening with Rita; dinner, drinks, cocktails, wines, table plans, lighting schemes, serviceware, glassware, staff uniforms, table settings, all reflecting the five themes of Rita's collection.
DDC created a range of hashtaggable 'cut out and keep' placemat / games (as featured the following morning in the Mail Online / Metro / Evening Standard), retail display backdrops to introduce elements of the collection itself, booked bands and DJs in collaboration with Adidas, Rita and the PR company, and pulled it all together in a venue that DDC sourced, and was located about a mile from where Rita grew up.
We worked on films, photoshoots, created a West London art gallery, dealt with all kinds of last minute fashionista hecticness, and, to be honest, totally nailed the job.
